Sample Collection

This test requires a serum blood sample, which must be collected by a veterinarian using the specialized kit provided.

Instructions for the Pet Owner:

  • When you receive the test kit, do not open it.

  • Schedule an appointment with your veterinarian to perform the serum blood draw.

  • On the day of the appointment, bring your pet and the unopened kit to the clinic.

  • An 8-hour fast is recommended for your dog prior to the blood draw, although it is not mandatory.

Instructions for the Veterinary Staff:

  • Open the test kit and carefully follow the instructions provided for collecting the serum sample.

  • Complete the requisition form using the information provided by the pet owner.

Important Notes:

  • The Dry Serum Sample Collection kit must be used by a licensed veterinarian. This is a mandatory requirement for sample collection.

  • Once you receive the kit, make an appointment with your local vet and take the unopened kit to have your dog’s blood sample taken.

  • Full collection instructions and requisition forms are included in the kit for veterinary use.

  • There is no known interference from most medical treatments, but if your dog is currently on medication, you may contact us for further guidance.

  • The New Dog Allergy Test can be performed at the same time as other routine veterinary tests.
