What are the Key Features of the Intolerance test?
Comprehensive Analysis
The Intolerance Test from Forensics Canada covers up to 900 potential trigger items. It analyzes both food items—including everyday groceries and common fridge staples—and non-food items such as pet dander, pollens, and household irritants.
This comprehensive test also includes a detailed evaluation of:
Nutritional deficiencies
Metal toxicity
Gut biome and digestive health
Hormonal imbalances
With this extensive analysis, you can gain a clearer understanding of how your body responds to a wide range of substances and take steps toward improving your overall health and well-being.
Experienced & Accredited
The testing facility used by Forensics Canada has analyzed over 400,000 samples from clients worldwide and brings more than 10 years of experience in helping individuals restore their body’s natural balance.
The facility uses Mars III (Multiple Analytical Resonance Systems) bioresonance technology, a highly advanced system recognized as a Class IIa medical scanning device under ISO EN 13485 standards. This ensures a high level of precision and reliability in every test performed.
How is Alcohol Metabolized?
The ADH1C gene is responsible for producing the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase 1C (ADH1C), which plays a key role in the first step of alcohol metabolism—converting ethanol into a substance called acetaldehyde in the liver.
What makes this gene especially interesting is that it exists in different variants, which affect how efficiently the enzyme works.
The ADH1C*1 (variant A) leads to a more active enzyme. People with this variant tend to metabolize alcohol more quickly, which can result in faster onset of effects like euphoria and relaxation. However, it also means that unpleasant side effects such as flushing and headaches may appear more quickly.
The ADH1C*2 (variant G) produces a less efficient enzyme, slowing down the breakdown of ethanol. This slower processing can increase the risk of alcohol addiction and liver-related health issues over time.
Understanding which variant you carry through the Alcohol Metabolism Test can help guide safer and more personalized drinking habits.
Easy & Non-Invasive
This test only requires a small hair sample which can be collected from the comfort of your own home! Unlike blood and urine tests which can be affected by recent food intake or stress, hair testing is unaffected by the tested person’s most recent activity and is able to assess one’s health covering a much longer period of time.
Fast & Detailed Results
The Intolerance Test results from Forensics Canada are available within 3 to 5 working days from the time your samples are received at the laboratory.
Note: Your results will be organized into sections based on the type of items tested. A full list of all tested items will be available in the detailed analysis section of your report.
Sample Collection for Intolerance Testing
Once you place your order, a Forensics Canada sample collection kit will be mailed to your address. The kit includes everything needed to perform the Intolerance Test, and the hair sample collection process is simple and straightforward. However, for the most accurate results, please follow the instructions below carefully:
Any form of body hair can be used for the test
Hair dye or chemical treatments do not affect test results
Only a few strands are needed (3 to 4 strands) if the hair is longer than one inch
Ideally, the hair sample should include the root, though this is not always necessary
If cutting the hair, do so as close to the root as possible
Do not use hair collected from brushes or accessories due to the risk of cross-contamination
Once collected, place the hair in a small, sealable plastic bag and ensure it remains dry and secure
Do not send your sample in metal foil or any metallic packaging
Place the sealed hair sample inside a secure envelope or postage wallet and send it to the address provided
Please ensure that the correct postage is applied. Insufficient postage may cause delays in processing.
Important: Avoid including any other items in the same bag as the hair sample, as this may interfere with the accuracy of testing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an allergy and an intolerance?
Allergies are typically more severe and reactions are usually immediate. Allergies are also lifelong conditions. Intolerances, on the other hand, are generally less intense, can change over time, and may show symptoms from 10 minutes up to 48 hours after consuming the trigger item.
What’s the difference between food allergy and food intolerance?
Food allergies cause immediate digestive irritation and are lifelong. Common symptoms include headaches, cramps, gas, diarrhoea, or nausea.
Food intolerance or sensitivity causes delayed reactions and may improve or worsen with lifestyle and diet changes. Symptoms include cough, swelling, abdominal pain, or breathing problems.
If I am intolerant to wheat, does it mean I am also intolerant to gluten?
No. While wheat contains gluten, being wheat intolerant does not automatically mean you’re gluten intolerant. However, if you’re gluten intolerant, you will likely also have issues with wheat.
If I am gluten or wheat intolerant, does it mean I have Coeliac Disease?
No. Gluten or wheat intolerance is not the same as Coeliac Disease. Coeliac Disease is a lifelong autoimmune disorder where the body attacks itself upon gluten ingestion. It is not an allergy or intolerance.
Can I take the test if I have very short hair?
Yes. The hair sample can be taken from any part of the body, including the leg, arm, or chest.
Does dyed hair affect the test results?
No. Hair treatments or coloring do not affect the test as it analyzes the composition of the hair itself.
What do my results mean?
Items flagged in your results show an intolerance level of at least 85% and are categorized as low, medium, or high. For example, lactose or milk intolerance might appear as red or yellow. Intolerances may develop due to lifestyle, diet, or environmental factors and are not always lifelong.
What does the metal toxicity analysis determine?
It identifies your sensitivity to specific metals—not the actual quantity present in your body. Sensitivity can trigger a reaction upon contact or exposure, even indirectly. Common exposure sources include workplace machinery or air conditioning systems.
