Maternal Lineage Test
$219
What do you really know about your maternal lineage and personal evolutionary history? If you’re truly curious about tracing your ancient maternal roots and uncovering where your ancestors came from thousands of years ago, the Maternal Lineage Ancestry DNA Test is exactly what you need.
This powerful test is the ultimate tool for anyone interested in exploring their deep origins and understanding the journey of their maternal bloodline through history.
Why DNA testing?
The physical records and historical documents available to you can usually trace your family history back only a century or two, perhaps a few hundred years if you come from royalty or aristocracy. However, no amount of public record research or genealogical investigation can uncover the deep roots of your ancient ancestry the way a DNA test can.
Through advanced genetic analysis, you can go far beyond written history and discover insights into your origins that would otherwise remain hidden.
So what will I find out with an ancestry DNA test?
Maternal ancestry testing provides access to information that was once impossible to uncover before the advent of DNA analysis. This test compares your DNA to a wide range of maternal haplogroups in our extensive database. Haplogroups are well-studied maternal ancestral clans, and through ancestry DNA testing, each person can be connected to their own unique clan. Visit our mtDNA haplogroup page to learn more about this.
Using haplogroup research, we can trace the migration patterns of your matrilineal ancestors, revealing the routes they followed and the regions where they eventually settled. While all human beings share a common origin in Africa, the migration paths taken by your ancestors and those of others may have led to very different regions and environments.
We are here to uncover your ancestral journey.
The price for the Maternal Lineage Test is $219.
It is important to note that all maternal ancestry tests available today provide links to geographical regions, not specific countries. This is because the DNA test traces your ancestral roots far back in time, well before the formation of modern nations.
The political maps we use today, outlining countries and borders, are a very recent development in human history, emerging only around the 15th century. Maternal ancestry testing looks far beyond this period, offering a deep view into your ancient origins based on regions, migration patterns, and genetic connections that predate modern civilization.

Cost and Specifications of maternal lineage testing
As part of a special package, we are offering the Dual Lineage Test (maternal and paternal) for a special price of $299. Please note that this test is only available to male participants, as paternal lineage is traced through the Y-chromosome, which only males carry.
You can expect to receive your results by email within 4 to 5 weeks. The in-depth analysis and detailed examination will provide valuable insight into your ancestral background—and will be well worth the wait.

Our maternal lineage test is among the most accurate and advanced tests currently available. To ensure scientifically thorough and reliable results, we analyze the following regions:
Hypervariable Region I (HVR I): Most DNA testing companies focus only on this region, as it often provides sufficient information to determine your maternal haplogroup.
Hypervariable Region II and III (HVR II & III): In some cases, HVR I may not offer enough detail to accurately map your ancestral history. By including HVR II and III, we can uncover additional information about your maternal haplogroup, including sub-haplogroups, offering a more complete picture of your ancient lineage and migration patterns.
Your mitochondrial DNA
Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is a unique type of DNA that every person inherits from their mother. Your mother inherited it from her mother, and so on, forming an unbroken maternal line that can be traced back for thousands of years. This DNA is found not in the nucleus of cells, but in tiny structures called mitochondria. Although it makes up less than 0.001% of your total DNA, it holds immense value for ancestry research.
What makes mtDNA so powerful is its stability over generations. It changes very slowly, meaning two people from the same maternal bloodline will have an almost identical mitochondrial DNA profile. This continuity forms an unbreakable chain, linking you directly to your maternal ancestors throughout history.
Interestingly, during fertilization, the father’s mitochondrial DNA is excluded from the egg and destroyed. This means only maternal mtDNA is passed on, making it the perfect tool for tracing matrilineal ancestry with precision.
